Hi, I’m Georgemma Hunt. I’m an artist and researcher-designer, based in London. I enjoy working with my hands and thinking holistically about the materials we build with.
Within my art practice, I help people and communities to create bespoke artworks that bring their ideas to life. I work primarily with pen and paint across canvases, murals, illustrations and hand-painted trays. My research and architectural practice focuses on landscape-led design and bio-based material development, by combining locally available resources with natural building and circular economy principles.
I am currently working on a PhD at the Sustainability Research Institute, UEL, where I am developing an innovative building material made from Common Bulrush (Typha latifolia) that could be grown on rewetted lowland peatlands in the UK.
